Hi All—
We're still here at Bill’s brother Joe’s house, enjoying a double (do you believe it?) rest day. It’s 12:30 a.m., and we have worked all morning getting ready for Joe’s daughter Erica's post-wedding shower. Erica married Anthony Wurst yesterday, and Joe and Buernele brought all of the flowers and gifts here for opening before the two take off tomorrow to Mexico on their honeymoon.

I’ve prepared a veggie and dip platter, popped a big bowl of popcorn, and picked about three quarts of blueberries from the backyard bushes. These will go into a fruit salad that Buernele has made. Lots of sandwiches and other food, too.
Bill and I will leave tomorrow morning (Monday) to continue our Northern Tier Ride. We have ample time to cover the miles between here and Muscatine or Burlington or wherever the RAGBRAI group decides. They have said that they will coordinate with us to let us know where to meet them at the end of their ride.
Even though Bill and I are ahead of schedule now, we will be back on schedule soon after RAGBRAI ends.
Yesterday we cleaned our drive trains and then went to the local bike shop where Bill got a new pair of gloves and a handlebar mirror. We both aired up our tires, too. Then we went to Walmart and bought some food and supplies we needed. At one point, Bill appeared with about a 2-pound bottle of Simple Green. I had to nearly pry it out of his hands. It was on sale for a bargain price . . . and Bill loves a bargain. For instance, he’s toting around 2 fuel bottles because buying two was cheaper than buying one. He’s also lugging around a couple of heavy slime tubes because they are “new.”
After WalMart, we went to a nearby grocery and bought a small roasted chicken and some salad. Also bought a tub of donut holes, which are now history.
[I am organizing this blog after the fact and cannot now find them or quite a few other photos I remember taking. Seems as though I am inept at storing and downloading pix--the phone bit being fairly new to me. ]
Guests are now arriving, so will continue this later.
Guests are gone, food is put away, and all are napping. Was fun to be at the wedding party. Felt like I was back in Norway with all of the blonde healthy looking men and women. The accent is right out of Fargo, too, and often made me smile.
Now we are thinking of heading down the WI side of the Mississippi to Prairie du Chien.
